Back in New York

Years ago, when we would ride back and forth between Albany and Syracuse on Route 20, we often stopped at the Gatesdale Dairy Bar for ice cream.  As you can see in this picture, the milk has turned to wine… amazing!

When we were on our Route 66 trip back in Maine we stopped to see the beautifully renovated round barn in Arcadia, OK.  When we told the man working there that we were from NY,  he pointed to the pictures of round barns he’d collected from around the country and said he’d heard there was one in Bridgewater, NY but he didn’t have a picture.

Back home, Mike spent some time looking at the satellite view of the Bridgewater area and zeroed in on what looked like a round building.  When we found ourselves in Bridgewater, we headed north out of the center of town and went several miles with no sighting.  Finally we made a U-turn and saw this…

Sure enough, it was a round barn… or maybe it’s just a silo.
